We The People

We The People

Project Overview

This project was inspired by my interest in Renaissance art and the way its ideas about power, symbolism, and society still connect to modern issues. My goal was to create a piece that combined Renaissance-inspired composition and detail with contemporary political themes, using symbolic figures to explore ideas of justice and imbalance. During the design process, I simplified the composition from a crowded protest scene to a more focused setting in front of a justice building, allowing the central figures and symbolism to remain clear. One of the biggest challenges was rendering fabric, perspective, and architectural detail while maintaining the visual depth I wanted. This project strengthened my understanding of historical artistic techniques, especially perspective and symbolism, while showing how art can still be used to question systems of power and reflect current social conversations.
