This project focused on creating a poster and a series of logos for Arizona State Parks. I selected Kartchner Caverns State Park, Lost Dutchman State Park, and Slide Rock State Park for the logo series, with the poster centered on Lost Dutchman. For the logos, I wanted a brighter, more modern look than the park branding used at the time, while keeping the designs unified through consistent shapes and typography. I paired a serif headline with a sans serif subheading to create a balance between clarity and character, giving the designs a more inviting and distinctive feel. For the poster, I drew inspiration from classic national park posters by using rich colors and strong contrast, while keeping the rider on horseback as the main focal point. The most challenging part was simplifying the landscape while still preserving important details and recognizable shapes. This project taught me a great deal about logo development, especially how important it is for a design to clearly reflect the identity and purpose of what it represents.
